Whitney Prater received her Associate of Science degree in Nursing at Panola College in Carthage, Texas, Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, and her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Whitney is also recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She specializes in psychiatry across the lifespan.

For nearly a decade, Whitney has worked throughout North and East Texas as a psychiatric nurse with experience in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, personality disorders, addiction, dementia, and crisis intervention. She also has an extensive history in forensic psychiatry. She believes in a wholistic and multifaceted approach to care, with an emphasis on treating the mind, body, and spirit for optimal health outcomes.

When out of the office, Whitney enjoys spending time with her husband and two cats, Monk and Rose. She also enjoys going to rock concerts, visiting antique stores and coffee shops, and watching true crime documentaries.
