Lisa Van Diemen

FNP-C, PMHNP-BC


Lisa Van Diemen is originally from West Texas. She later moved to Central Texas, attended and graduated from McLennan Community College with an Associate of Science degree as a physical therapist assistant. She was a licensed physical therapist assistant (LPTA) for 30 years and provided physical therapy in multiple settings.

While a LPTA, she returned to college and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler. She worked as a critical care (ICU) nurse in the Longview, Tyler and Dallas areas for 11 years before returning to UT Tyler to obtain her Master's Degree as a family nurse practitioner.

As an American Academy of Nurse Practitioner board-certified family nurse practitioner, Lisa has extensive experience in primary care, long-term care and geriatric inpatient psych. After providing medical care at a geriatric-psych facility for 10 years, she attended Regis College to obtain a post-Master's Certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and is now board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Lisa serves as the director of behavioral health at Special Health Resources, where she provides psych/mental healthcare and manages the opioid addiction clinic at Longview Care Clinic.

She has been a volunteer with Curatio Mundi and Diakonia Compassionate Ministries in Kisumu, Kenya since 2016 working alongside Dr. Anita Scribner.
