Lisa Van Diemen

Lisa Van Diemen, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, originally attended and graduated from McLennan Community College with a degree as a physical therapist assistant in 1993. She was a licensed physical therapist assistant (LPTA) for 30 years, providing physical therapy in multiple settings. While a LPTA, she returned to college to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas at Tyler and worked as a critical care (ICU) nurse in the Longview, Tyler and Dallas area for 11 years before returning to the University of Texas at Tyler to obtain her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2010.

As an American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, she has more than 14 years’ experience in primary care, long-term care and geriatric inpatient psych. After providing medical care at a geriatric-psych facility for 10 years, she attended Regis College to obtain a post-master’s certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and is now board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center providing psychiatric and opioid addiction treatment to patients at Special Health Resources.
