Compliance Officer


Ernesto Guevara, BSN, RN, began his journey with Special Health Resources as a volunteer in 2001. After six months, he transitioned into a full-time role as a bilingual case manager. Over the years, Ernesto has advanced within the organization, holding key positions including AETC site coordinator, project data manager, staff RN, clinic manager and quality assurance/ quality improvement manager. He currently serves as compliance officer.

With a career spanning more than 25 years, Ernesto has been a dedicated advocate for HIV services, tirelessly working to improve the health and well-being of communities in Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas. His expertise and commitment have led him to publish and present at numerous national and statewide conferences on behalf of SHR. He is also a proud member of the Health Care Compliance Association.

Ernesto holds an Associate degree in Applied Sciences from Kilgore College and obtained his Registered Nurse license in 2014. He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating Summa Cum Laude and serving as the student speaker at the nursing pinning ceremony. Currently, Ernesto is pursuing a Master degree in Business Administration with a specialization in healthcare management. He is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Golden Key International Honour Society and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

In his free time, Ernesto enjoys spending quality time with his family and giving back to the community. His volunteer efforts include serving as an interpreter and preparer for the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program with the Greater Longview United Way, participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and contributing to the City of Longview’s National Volunteer Day.
